Workshops and Mentorship for students - Professional Development for parentsGroup Workshops (for students)
All our workshops last 90 minutesWe offer interactive, hands-on, educational science workshops where learning is accomplished through discussion and interactive experimentation. Cost: $20.00 per student (minimum 10 students) Please note that transport and preparation are extra and will depend on your location.
All of our elementary level in-class workshops have been aligned with the new Quebec curriculum. Included within each workshop are: broad area of learning, focus on development, educational aim, competencies targetted, glossary of words.
Science Fair Mentorship (for students)
3-hour Group Workshop or Private Sessions The process that produces winning results for science fairs is no mystery to Live Stuff. We offer 3-hour group workshops to help students design and create projects with a specific methodology. Cost: $40.00 per person (taxes extra). Private individual sessions are also available. Cost: $65.00 for the first hour and $40.00 per hour for additional hours. Please note that transport is not included and will depend on your location.
Professional Development
(for parents)
Half-day Group Session or Private SessionsDuring these training workshops parent-teachers will gain knowledge to help them become more at ease with the science material they teach. These parent workshops area specifically designed to accommodate the new Quebec science curriculum, which promotes inquiry-based learning and the scientific method.
We offer educational workshops revolving around one of the many life science disciplines. Workshops can be personalized to meet your needs. Call us for more information.

- Visualizing DNA
An activity that allows participants to see DNA using the electrophoresis method currently used in most molecular biology labs.
Cycles: Sec - Science of Cosmetics
This activity lets kids (girls and boys) get acquainted with the steps of producing a cosmetic product, from laboratory research to mass production.
Cycles: Sec - Where is the Fat?
Kids will be able to figure out the percentage of fatty content using real food, while learning about healthy eating habits.
Cycles: 3,Sec - Science of Perfumes
One of the most ancient ways of communication is the sense of smell, this activity lets kids explore this sense while creating their own perfume.

Kids will be able to extract the plant DNA and learn about this very important molecule.

Kids will separate and visualize leaf pigments by paper chromatography which will help them to understand the process of photosynthesis.

Kids will be able to gain greater knowledge about the development of living organisms. We will see the difference between growth and development, and what a life cycle is.

This activity is designed to introduce kids to the smallest creatures on Earth. They will be introduced to microorganism diversity and habitat.

Kids will be able to learn on the way of life of different types of insects.

Kids will jump-start their own hydroponic garden while learning about this cultivation method as well as the nutritional needs of plants.

Kids will learn tons of information as they learn the mysteries of this fascinating animal.

Kids will find out the secrets of life under our oceans while learning about modern environmental issues.

This activity will allow children to explore their senses while they learn some of the reasons behind our reactions to stimuli.
