Select an age-appropriate workshop theme for a fun filled 90 minute workshop at your library. Minimum 10 participants required. Price: $20.00 per child (transport and preparation not included and will depend on your location)(taxes extra).

Would you like to provide colourful science activities that are stimulating, totally fun, and filled with enthralling discoveries ? Live Stuff is made up of a team of captivating biologists who enjoy sharing their love of science with kids.

We offer workshops carrying attractive and varied topics that satisfy the curiosity of each child. These workshops make it possible for kids to acquire new knowledge and, at the same time have fun and use their creativity.

Our workshops aim at creating interest and nurturing the curiosity for the life-sciences in kids while they have fun. We bring a lot of material to give the opportunity to each child to do observations, and experiments. What’s more, they always get to bring something home!

Multi session 6-week program featuring a different age-appropriate theme for each week (themes will be selected by Live Stuff presenters). Minimum 10 participants required.

Workshop Theme Topics

• NEW! - Build your own dino fossil Kids will make their own fossil casted from a replica. They can then transform it into either a key chain or a necklace.
  Ages: 7-9, 10-12
• Let’s make paper! A fun activity in which kids will be able to make their own colourful paper that they can bring home and use.
  Ages: 7-9,10-12
• Hydroponics Kids will jump-start their own hydroponic garden while learning about this cultivation method as well as the nutritional needs of plants.

• Mad About Bats Kids will learn tons of information as they learn the mysteries of this fascinating animal. We bring real bats that kids can see up close. We will see the many kinds of bats that exist and what makes them all special.

• That’s Buggy! Kids will be able to learn on the way of life of different types of insects. They will observe tons of real insect specimens and make their own little bug to take home!

• Life Under the Ocean Kids will find out the secrets of life under our oceans while learning about modern environmental issues. Kids will observe and handle real sea specimens and build their own personal beach.

• Dino dig An activity that will transform kids into real paleontologists! Each child receives a rock containing a mystery fossil that he/she will reveal with the help of paleontologist tools.
  Ages: 7-9,10-12
• NEW! - Sharks! Yes! All about sharks! Where they live, what they eat (and don’t eat), how big (and small) they are. Kids will be able to observe and handle real shark specimens. They will also be able to make their own shark tooth pendant or charm.

• Find the culprit! This activity allows kids to play the role of a science investigator! They will perform tests just like in a real crime lab!

• Rootbeer Making An activity that will teach kids how to make home-brewed root beer while learning the basics of
  biotechnology.

• Science of Cosmetics This activity lets kids (girls and boys) get acquainted with the steps of producing a cosmetic product, from laboratory research to mass production. They will create their own lip balm from natural ingredients and personalized flavouring!

• Science of Perfumes One of the most ancient ways of communication is the sense of smell, this activity lets kids explore this sense. Using chemistry, they will create a perfumed bath product.

• DNA Extraction Kids will be able to extract plant DNA using the same technique used in real labs. They can take the result of their experiment home to show off to their friends!

• NEW! - Genetic Jewelry For anyone wanting to learn to make their own DNA shaped earrings using beads. The technique is shown at the beginning of the workshop and we make own own pair of DNA earrings!
  Ages: 13-17
• NEW! - Spa Science Using very simple methods and all-natural ingredients, we will learn how to make facial scrub and bath bombs and the basics of keeping skin healthy-looking.

• Health matters Kids will be able to learn about different ways a cold can get around, and how to keep it away from them. We then make our own handcrafted models of the cold virus!
